De Vere Slaley Hall
De Vere Slaley Hall is a golfers haven. Set west of Newcastle in 1,000 acres of prime Northumberland forest and moorland, the hotel boasts not one but two 72 par championship golf courses. Slaley was recently recognised as one of the top six tournament courses in the UK. The Sunday Times Travel Magazine, described it as "without doubt the outstanding social course in England." The fairways have been graced by some of the world's top golfers. Newcastle Greyhound Stadium hosts both greyhound racing and speedway and has gained an enviable reputation for excelling in both.
