Young, gifted and back

‘Art Cares’ at the main gallery at Bishop Auckland Town Hall, showcases work from young people that had previously been displayed at bus shelters across the region.

This transformative collection of artworks were displayed at bus shelters in the north-east as part of Art Stops. This fine project exists to give a platform to a network of artists – of all types and ages – and they utilise advertising billboards, bus shelter panels, interior and exterior projects to display works. They have done a lot of excellent work with young people (many of which are care experienced) and this exhibition sees them addressing subject matters of particular interest to themselves with themes ranging from isolation to gender and LGBTQ rights. Other subjects are simply a celebration of nature or love.
