The stuff of Life

The fabulous ice rink is now in-situ outside the Life Science Centre, but inside they’ve got a whole host of other good stuff going on for both families and adults alike.

A yearly visit to the ice-rink at Life Science Centre is now pretty much nailed-on as a festive ‘must do’. Situated in Times Square – just outside the centre – the rink, which is made of real ice, is open throughout the Christmas season and gives skaters of all ages and abilities the chance to do their thing. Skating sessions last approximately one hour and it’s recommended that you book your slot in advance to avoid disappointment. Inside the centre itself Life are running ‘The Santa Experience’. Here you will join Santa in the amazing planetarium and gaze upwards as he flies around the globe on Christmas Eve to deliver presents. You can also visit his house to meet the fella himself and see some exciting festive demonstrations. The planetarium is also the place to be on 9 & 17 December when Pink Floyd’s iconic album ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ will be played accompanied by some stunning visuals. This alternative Christmas night like no other will see the bar open and, yes, mulled wine will be on the menu… (ages 13+ for this one.) GM
