‘We are Blyth Star’ showcases the creative talents of a group of adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs. You can see it at RePUBlic Gallery.

Launched in 2021, RePUBlic Gallery is a contemporary gallery and community space located in the old Kings Head pub on Blyth’s Bridge Street, and it’s committed to a programme of exhibitions that champion local engagement. Its rotation of exhibitions span both the main ground floor gallery space and the adjoining Kings Head café via its lightbox displays and ‘PUBlic windows’. Their latest show has been curated by local charity Blyth Star Enterprises and its Chief Executive Officer Julie Dixon commented: “Our departments and offices are absolutely full of incredible pieces of artwork and woodcraft that service users have made, but we have never had an outlet from which to showcase it, until now.”
