Keyboard player, composer and producer Jessica Lauren has worked with all manner of legendary names – such as Jean Carne and Tom Browne – but she actually recorded ‘Film’ in 1997. It’s now been remastered and it remains a remarkable listen combining modal jazz, electronica, library music, field recordings and more. Tuneful, genre-mashing and original, the most exciting thing about it is how contemporary it still sounds. GM
