Yas Queens!

The international smash hit that is ‘Six’ – a musical history of Henry VIII’s six wives – is romping into the Stockton Globe this December and January.

I think it would be fair to describe ‘Six’ as a phenomenon. It’s been a huge hit all the way from the West End to Broadway and it’s maybe one of the more unexpected smashes of recent years. But then again, maybe not. Everyone loves a slice of the Tudors, after all, but they’ve never been done like this before. All six of Henry VIII’s wives take to the stage to belt out their tales, remixing, as they do, five hundred years of historical heartbreak into a celebration of 21st “girl” power. The New York Times flagged up the tale as “pure entertainment” and the gold-disk winning album features songs such as ‘Don’t Lose Ur Head’ and ‘Ex-Wives’.
