Hopping Glad

‘The Velveteen Rabbit’, which is coming to Gosforth Civic Theatre this December, is the heart-warming latest from balletLORENT that shows just how toys become real.

balletLORENT shows are always special and ‘The Velveteen Rabbit’ promises to be extra-special. Inspired by Margery Williams’ tale, toys come to life through the magic of storytelling, music and dance. The heart of the show sees a toy rabbit and a boy embark upon an adventure and discover the essence of growing up and the meaning of love. Youngsters are invited to watch and wonder from their comfy cushions, which will be close to the action. And – get this! – at the end of each performance, children will be offered the chance to interact with the costumed performers. Like I say: extra-special.

The Velveteen Rabbit, 20-22 December, Gosforth Civic Theatre, Newcastle, Fri 2pm & 5pm, Sat & Sun 11am & 2pm, £14 adults, £12 children (babes in arms under 12 months free), gosforthcivictheatre.co.uk
