Cosy and Cool

Considering we’re still in the depths of winter, there’s still plenty of time to get the most out of your knitwear, and we’ve been eyeing up Bella Freud’s jumpers for some time now.

Inspired by a whole host of undeniably cool sources, one of them most iconic knits in her collection is the 1970 jumper. This was inspired by the early New York punk scene and Patti Smith, and has been wildly popular with everyone from Kate Moss to Zoe Ball – who wore it to announce she was leaving Radio 2 back in November – making these cosy slogan jumpers a fashion essential. Even the Bella Freud logo was designed by her father, painter Lucian Freud, who drew it during a break while Bella was sitting for him. If jumpers aren’t your thing, there’s also graphic tees, homeware, dresses and accessories like silk scarves and socks to shop, all with the brand’s signature edgy design. FR
