Wife and husband duo Anna Miles and Matt Brennan are the movers and groovers behind Beautiful Cosmos, and their debut album is a thing of indie-pop joy. It’s been produced by Field Music, and Beautiful Cosmos’s stuff certainly shares the same kind of subtle and melodic DNA as Sunderland’s finest. The tunes here feel as though they’re built from shards of light, the instrumentation is upbeat, and Miles (who previously led indie-pop band Maple Leaves) has one of those eminently listenable voices that you really need in your life.
