Step Back in Time

If you’d like to take a trip back to Before Times in Newcastle – even before the first Greggs opened – then you need Medieval Newcastle Tours in your life.

I’m not sure what the good folk of Newcastle ate before steakbakes and sausage rolls, but maybe the authentically costumed guides who conduct these popular medieval tours will know. The tours give a whole new perspective on Newcastle and take in much of the history that still surrounds us including St. Andrews, the city’s oldest church. In fact, the church marks the starting point of each tour, tours that also take in the formidable town walls, friaries, merchant houses, markets and guild headquarters. The end point of the tour is, where else, the imposing Black Gate – the gatehouse of Newcastle’s Castle. From here you will be free to explore the amazingly preserved remains of the Black Gate and the Castle Keep yourselves. The Medieval Newcastle Tours are just one of a number of tours run by Newcastle Castle. Others include Kids’ Castle Adventure Tour and Evening Castle Tours.

More info on these, and everything else mentioned above, from the website below. Seek: newcastlecastle.co.uk/tours
