Look directly into the sun…
We’ve not seen much sun over the past few months, but that missing celestial body is set to make a stunning return this March and April when internationally renowned artist Luke Jerram unveils his ‘Helios’ at Seaton Delaval Hall. The dazzling artwork, which has been co-commissioned by the National Trust and is named after the Ancient Greek mythological god who personified the sun, fuses solar imagery, sunlight and a specially created surround sound by Duncan Speakman and Sarah Anderson (which includes NASA recordings of the sun). Jerram’s previous astronomical pieces have examined Mars and the Earth, but this solar spectacle looks like it’s set to outshine them all. Quite literally.
