This April The Glasshouse is launching The Glasshouse Studios – an exciting new programme of songwriting and music production courses designed for both beginners and those who want to polish up their skills.

If you’re of the opinion that The Glasshouse is the biggest gem in the region’s live music crown, then you’d be correct. But the venue does so much more than stage jaw-dropping gigs. The Glasshouse Studios, for instance, which is launching for over 18s this April. From learning the building blocks of songwriting to mastering digital audio workstations, these courses are covering all bases and for all skill levels. They include: Introduction to Songwriting (Level 1). Perfect for beginners, this 10-week course explores the foundational elements of songwriting – from lyrics to melody and everything in between. Participants will dive into different genres and learn how to use Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) to craft their own demos (begins 23 April). Intermediate Songwriting (Level 2) meanwhile is designed for more seasoned writers and will focus on refining skills and finding a unique artistic voice (begins 25 April). If you want to get into music production then Introduction to Music Technology & Production (Level 1) is ideal for beginners, covering the basics of DAWs like GarageBand and Logic (begins 24 April). Music Technology & Production (Intermediate) – Level 2 is for those with some prior knowledge, delving deeper into DAW functionalities, focusing on Logic Pro X and advanced music production techniques (begins 24 April). Finally, Music Technology & Production (Advanced) – Level 3 is geared towards experienced producers. This intensive course offers access to industry standard equipment and advanced techniques in drum and vocal production (begins 5 June).
