People love to Forage!
I’m eschewing my usual Easter traditions this year (eating chocolate in front of the TV while wearing what may be politely termed “loungewear”, or more accurately termed “rags”) and heading up to the wonderful Rigg & Furrow brewery and taproom in Acklington. Because it’s here that the next Forage will take place. This will see around 50 independent makers setting up shop for a two-day event that will showcase the many talented creatives, makers and artisan small businesses that are here in the north-east. The market also coincides with the launch of Forage’s new collection of homeware products, which champion how the founders (Ellie Davison-Archer and Steven Eyles) have worked closely with makers to collaborate on exclusive handmade pieces inspired by the land and the seasonal shift into Spring. And once you’ve enjoyed the market be sure to visit the taproom, which will be open for artisan brewed drinks. What else? Local street food in the rustic indoor seating area and relaxed DJ sets? You got it! DP
