Canadian heavy metal outfit Spiritbox take their sound to another level with this latest album. It’s bigger, louder and just belongs in an arena with an energetic crowd shouting out the lyrics. The driving, distorted guitar riffs create a huge wave of sound that runs throughout, matched only by the ferocity of frontwoman Courtney Laplante’s incredible screams. You can’t quite believe that the same vocalist has such a sweet, melodic singing voice that cuts through through the noise and adds emotional colour to the tracks - and the transition is seamless. Definitely one of the most exciting up-and-coming metal bands at the moment. LT
