Sable, the latest release by Oregon’s Darci Phenix, was penned over a period of five years - meaning a lot of care has been poured into this album. It shows, too; the songs are thoughtfully crafted with relatively stripped-back production, keeping the focus on Phenix’s gentle vocals as she ponders questions of love. When the music does build, it envelops the listener in a dreamy folk soundscape that brings to life the beautiful natural imagery within the lyrics.
