More than a concert

Brace yourself! JustKing Jones’ latest tour – the GENESIS Tour – sees him offering punters more than a concert. He’s offering punters nothing less than a transformative journey of sound, spirit and connection. Oh, yes! Jump aboard when he comes to Cluny 2 in Newcastle this April.

I’d normally look askance at any artist promising to take me on a transformative journey of sound, spirit and connection, but JustKing Jones is no ordinary artist. The acclaimed saxophonist and producer always manages to create one of those vibes that simply lifts you up and ushers you to a different place – a better place. Oh, man – has he got powers. He grooves with ease between jazz, gospel and Afro-futurism and in the process a kind of alchemy happens, an alchemy that just has to be experienced – especially live. It’s little wonder that the man is in much demand, having worked with legends such as Ms. Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, Gorillaz, Yasiin Bey and Brass Ensemble, but on this tour he’s setting his own agenda and sailing towards profound spiritual themes while continuing to push boundaries. Your soul! It will be stirred! DP
