Summer ready sounds

Cobalt Studios are hosting a gorgeous celebration of musical influence from across the globe this May with Mina & Bryte (pictured) + Azula Bandit.

Cobalt Studios never fail to find a bit of something for everyone, and this melting pot of multicultural influence will get the blood flowing in your veins and certainly put you in the dancing mood. Mina & Bryte, hailing from Ghana and steadily taking over the world, produce an electric, exuberant hybrid of UK and West African dance music with live instrumentation that’s fuelled with infectious energy. Warming you up to that level is Azula Bandit – whose name you’ll certainly recognise if you’re an avid reader of our queer section – a multidisciplinary DJ, dancer and director bringing the flavours of South Africa to get your body moving and your booty shaking. As the weather gets warmer and moods get uplifted this is a gig not to be missed. MW

Mina & Bryte + Azula Bandit, Saturday 31 May, Cobalt Studios, Newcastle, 7pm, £10-£14, cobaltstudios.co.uk
