The New Jazz and Improvised Music Recording project was established during the height of the pandemic to offer a creative output for musicians when live performance opportunities were scarce. This, their eighth release, sees Shiver (Chris Sharkey, guitar; Andy Champion, bass; Joost Hendrickx, drum) hitting us up with a one-track album, which was all done in a continuous take. It has a deep space ambient feel – which occasionally gets dusty and grinding – and the band dig deep to unearth some real treasure. GM
