This is the third in Cat Power’s reinterpretations of songs by classic and contemporary artists and, once again, she’s produced an arresting collection. Alongside covers of rock and roll tracks from icons such as Nico and Nick Cave, she’s also tackled the likes of Frank Ocean (on opener ‘Bad Relgion’), Dead Man’s Bones (‘Pa Pa Power’) and Lana Del Rey (‘A White Mustang’). My fave? Her reworking of Billie Holiday’s ‘I’ll Be Seeing You’. It’s dreamy. GM
