Working Men’s Club - Fear Fear
Working Men’s Club are one of the more interesting indie bands to emerge over the last couple of years, certainly if you like your indie to be informed by electronic beats. On their second album they wield those beats once again and do so with a scuzzy hand. New Order is an obvious reference point but they tend to veer towards the most industrial clatter of Depeche Mode. They occasionally let some poppy light in (‘Rapture’ very nearly has a donk on it), but this is mainly cellar deep stuff with vocals buried in the mix. RM
