Local outfit The False Poets are purveyors of all things freakbeat and they’re celebrating their tenth anniversary with their third album (and first compilation), which pulls together some of their finest cuts. Tracks such as ‘Did It Feel Real?’ drip with the spirit of ’66, in all of its underground, garage rock, psych-infused glory, while the band display their diversity on tracks such as ‘Shadows of Fear’, a stripped back slice of gently fried gothic. If you’ve not yet had the pleasure, then this release is the perfect jumping in point. DP
