Kasabian - The Alchemist’s Euphoria
A lot of the talk about this sixth Kasabian album is debating whether or not former frontman Tom Meighan is missed. To address that elephant in the room: he did something really shit, so no he is not. Back to the task at hand, ‘The Alchemist’s Euphoria’ harks back to some of the band’s earlier, edgier sounds, rather than continuing the mainstream, anthemic sound of previous release ‘For Crying Out Loud’. There’s a futuristic interlude like their fourth album here, an atmospheric horn section like their second album there. And while there is undoubtedly a new feel to this music, what’s also new is the lack of memorable songs. LT
