Phil Tyler & Sarah Hill are a popular duo on the local folk scene and their new album is just another example of why they’re so loved. They deliver music that feels steeped in tradition, with minimal instrumentation (guitar, banjo and ukulele are variously used), but it oozes heart and passion. Their latest is primarily made up of classic tracks of yore (‘Bold Fisherman’, ‘Heathery Hills of Yarrow’) but two new tracks, ‘Sweet Lemney’ and ‘Golden Lads’, are also right on the money. GM
