Sorry - Anywhere But Here
North London’s Sorry crashed a few Best Albums of the Year lists in
2020 with the release of their debut album ‘925’ – a playful
mix of indie, jazz, pop and sass. They claim that for this release
they’re paying homage to classic songwriters of the 1970s, such as
Carly Simon and Randy Newman, but they’re coming at their
influences from an oblique angle. This is guitar-based, lo-fi stuff,
but packed with interest and Asha’s vocals mix plenty of grit among
the sugar. One to live with for a while, and then to cherish. DP
