George Lamb remains one of the best blues guitarists in the region and for his latest album he’s roped in a real roll-call of some of the north-east’s leading lights including Don Airey (Deep Purple), George Shovlin (Blues Hall of Fame) and Emma Wilson (winner of 2022’s ‘Emerging Blues Artist), as well as the likes of Archie Brown, Shannon Pearl, Phil Caffrey and more. The results are superb. Where others offer small beer, this is real ale – full bodied and replete with riffs that sound like they’ve been matured in oak casks. Mighty stuff. GM
