Mary Elizabeth Remington - In Embudo
The debut album from Mary Elizabeth Remington was recorded using full live takes, on a four-track in a small house edged up along the Rio Grande in Embudo, New Mexico. As you might expect, such a conceit lends these songs a rare intimacy, which is perfectly suited to her campfire-like folk. Her voice is very much to the fore and she brings plenty of soul to these arresting tales, which often touch on the surreal. If alt-folk is your bag, then you’re going to go a real bundle for this.
