Dance Craze on DVD and Blu-Ray

Directed by Joe Massot of Led Zeppelin’s ‘The Song Remains the Same’ fame, 1981 concert picture/documentary ‘Dance Craze’ catches the 2Tone movement at the its peak.  Artists and performances include The Specials, featuring the late great Terry Hall, dropping an apocalyptic ‘Man at C&A’ and a barnstorming ‘Nite Klub’; a spine-tinglingly accusatory ‘Missing Words’ by The Selecter, and, in contrast, some skanking levity courtesy of Bad Manners’ ‘Lip Up Fatty’. Madness, The Beat, and The Bodysnatchers also appear.

Newly remastered in 4K from the original material, ‘Dance Craze’ is released for the first time on DVD and Blu-ray on 27th March, following a selection of screenings around the UK (it’s playing at the Gala Durham on 23rd March). Chrysalis Records will be releasing the soundtrack on 24th in a remastered 3LP or DC Set.

DVD/Blu-ray special features include a selection of outtakes, ‘Rudies Come Back’, an episode of the BBC series ‘Arena’ about the rise of 2Tone featuring interviews with The Specials and The Selector, and a restoration demo.

The ‘Dance Craze’ Blu-ray/DVD is released on 27 March 2023 with remastered soundtrack. The LP/CD is released by Chrysalis Records on 24 March
