This Manchester four-piece are creating waves on the noise scene, and their superb debut album sees them betwixt the dancefloor and somewhere just south of oblivion. Recorded in caves, crypts, and, ahem, shopping centres, it features much in the way of pulsating basslines and even more in the way of off-beat clatter. The grooves feel original while Valentine Caulfield’s vocals (sung in French) offer something of a focal point. Original, adventurous and likely to be hated and cherished in equal measure. RM
