Originally from Israel but based in London for over a decade now, Noga Ritter is a singer-songwriter, band leader and workshop facilitator whose music blends what she often terms ‘Hebrew Jazz’. And what a heady brew it is! With songs sung in both Hebrew and English, she weaves together soaring trumpets, Gnawa grooves, Jewish melodies and Senegalese sabra drums – alongside Israeli jazz piano – for an album that is constantly surprising but eminently listenable.
