Formed by brothers Hom Yu and Jiun Chi, Mong Tong are your go-to band if you’re wanting to let some Taiwanese psychedelic good stuff into your life. The pair swirl together a rare and enticing sound by sampling Southeast Asian street sounds – including weddings, funerals and traditional celebrations – and then add hypnotic rhythms, 60s and 70s psych, gamelan music, phin guitar, tabla drums, Taiwan sisomi and more. The results are dreamy and often ecstatic. GM
