The debut album from this County Durham band is quite something. They’re consummate players and marry their undoubted virtuosity with a smooth melodic jangle – from the drive-time, slipping through the gears triumph that is ‘Make My Day’, to the lilting funk of ‘Diving Board’, to the surf-sprayed ‘Caribbean Twist’ – they’re packing real heat. Imagine yacht rock given an indie-pop makeover and you’ll get a good handle on the delights on offer here. GM
