SERRUM - Ambergris EP
Durham’s SERRUM reckon their stuff is like “micro movies playing
behind the eyelids.” I’m not arguing. Their latest EP – which
features six tracks of envelope pushing goodness – showcases
Eno-like ambience (‘Isolari’), spaghetti western guitars and
drones (‘Dead Position’), the dislocated fever dream of a
rattle-snake (‘Phonophobia’), an avalanche of white noise
transfigured into trembling air (‘Serrasound’), and more besides.
The results are both dramatic and thrilling. DP
