A few months ago ‘Requiem For A Fading World’ was a real highlight of Sage Gateshead’s summer season. A narrative work – set in a post-apocalyptic world – it followed two solo singers (a Mother and her Daughter) as they sought separate paths to greener pastures. This live album – featuring music by Kerrin Tatman and lyrics by Rosie Bristow – captures the show in all its magnificent glory. It’s a heart-in-the-mouth experience that blends soaring choral pieces, classical and spoken word to grandstanding effect. Outstanding. DP
