Anywhere But Now - Utopia
Anywhere were a north-east band who garnered a bit of record label interest in the mid-90s, but nothing eventually came of it. The band split, but the members got back together in 2018 to jam and then reform under a new moniker: Anywhere But Now. And I’m very glad they did because this album is super. They play classic rock that is infused with a heavy pop sensibility, which means we get big riffs, huge choruses, and the kind of raucous melodies that you can take to the bank. What else? Exciting vocal attack? You got it! DP
