Specky Cult - A Different Kind of Difficult
Specky Cult are a female-fronted north-east three-piece who play the kind of frothy indie-pop that isn’t afraid to stretch its wings, here taking in everything from strummy and exuberant acoustica (‘Alibi’) to spiky new-wave sounds (‘Love Crap’). They’re also not afraid to wield a swirly organ sound when required (‘Everything Is Awesome’ – not a Tegan and Sara cover) or amp up the punk-rockisms (‘Different Kind of Difficult’). Time to join this Cult. DP
