Bleachers - Bleachers
Even if you’re new to Bleachers, you have most likely heard their music before; they have featured on albums from the likes of Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey, thanks to frontman Jack Antonoff being one of the biggest producers of the moment. I’m a big fan of Bleachers’ earlier music, with its fresh, witty approach to nostalgic rock, but unfortunately this album falls flat for me. The tinge of Springsteen in songs such as ‘Modern Girl’ has been done before in previous releases and is getting repetitive, and much of the album is a wash of beige ballads that are pretty indistinguishable from one another. Given Antonoff’s track record, there’s no excuse for such a forgettable album. LT
