This album is well and truly in the running for one of my favourites of the year. Combining everything from spoken-word, to jazz, to electronica, to musical theatre, ‘Forgiveness Is Yours’ is an incredibly ambitious undertaking, but for me lands exceptionally well. While fantastical and creative, it simultaneously remains rooted in bleak realism through strong writing and a sprawling range of lyrical concepts. Indeed, frontman Lias Saoudi display a talent for commanding not just music, but words in general, as spoken-word track ‘Today You Become Man’ stands out as one of the most powerful tracks I’ve listened to in a while. In short, drop everything and give this a listen. LT
