The third album from this Newcastle rapper is a booze-soaked affair laden with tales of addiction and (occasional) moments of sobriety set to a bed of boom-bap beats and samples galore. He also draws on the local talents of Rick Fury and Stig of the Dump as well as old school hero (and sometimes Madlib collaborator) Percee P for an album that is very much his personal ode to hip-hop as a way of life. It’s also a release that cement’s Gilly’s place as a local legend of the scene. PC
