Eminem - The Death of Slim Shady
Eminem is a timeless artist whose hits continue to be played even by generations too young to remember the height of his success. These hits, however, seem to be restricted to his pre-2013 catalogue, with his more recent releases unfortunately being forgettable. This latest album is in fact unforgettable, but for the wrong reasons. The concept in theory is genius - a battle between Marshall Mathers and his evil alter ego Slim Shady, but instead of honing his cleverness, Eminem becomes another white man lamenting against cancel culture. Deliberately offensive lines are spat over and over - perhaps for edginess, perhaps to prove a point, but the whole thing feels incredibly tired. LT
