And then this happened…

When Ríoghnach Connolly – to my mind one of the finest singers on the planet – gets together with Honeyfeet, all manner of good stuff begins to happen. They’re at The Glasshouse in early October.

One of the finest singers on the planet? It’s true! Ríoghnach Connolly has one of those eminently listenable voices that suits all types of music. She can belt it out, and do the slower stuff too, and she’s picked up plenty of awards over the years including BBC Radio 2 Folk Singer of the Year (both in 2019 and 2020). An Irish lass – now based in Manchester – she has a rich musical family heritage and is a member of several international touring projects including the brilliant Honeyfeet. Their 2022 release ‘It’s Been a While, Buddy’ remains one of my favourite albums of the last ten years, and it’s a real full-bodied release full of folky funk, soul, dance, rock, jazz – you name it. The band – and Connolly in particular – always knock it out of the park when performing live and The Glasshouse is sure to be shaking to its rafters when they hit in early October. GM
