The Terror! The Terror!

Yorkshire rabble-rousers Terrorvision are back with a well feisty new album and they’ll be hitting us up with songs from it – along with all their classics – when they visit Stockton this September.

No one could ever accuse Terrorvision of being robots, and their new album ‘WE ARE NOT ROBOTS!’ makes that point in spades. It’s a full-bodied release, full of sweat-flying riffs and the kind of hooks you could hang carcasses from. The band, of course, have a long history. They formed in the late 80s but didn’t really find chart success until the 90s with the re-release of their second single ‘My House’, which still sounds fantastic today – all melodic and squally guitars along with a mosh-pit ready chorus. The band claimed the Kerrang! Award for Best Newcomer in 1994 after the release of their very excellent ‘How to Make Friends and Influence People’ album – a long-player that really amped up the band’s stomping, glam-dusted way with a tune. More classic albums followed including ‘Regular Urban Survivors’ and ‘Shaving Peaches’, but, following several start-stop reunions, it’s great to finally hear some new stuff in the shape of ‘WE ARE NOT ROBOTS!’. And, pleased to report, it’s a release that confirms the band remain a vital force for good. GM
